Plateau Moduli of Several Single-Chain Slip-Link and Slip-Spring Models

چکیده

We calculate the plateau moduli of several single-chain slip-link and slip-spring models for entangled polymers. In these models, entanglement effects are phenomenologically modeled by introducing topological constraints such as slip-links slip-springs. The average number segments between two neighboring or slip-springs, $N_{0}$, is an input parameter in models. To analyze experimental data, characteristic polymers $N_{e}$ estimated from modulus used instead. Both $N_{0}$ characterize polymers, naively considered to be same $N_{e}$. However, earlier studies showed that (or modulus) should independent parameters. this work, we show due fluctuations at short time scale, deviates $N_{0}$. This means relation not simple expected. $N_{e}$) depends on subchain-scale details employed model, well fact fluctuation mechanisms depend model rather strongly. theoretically Our results explicitly model-dependent. compare theoretical with various simulation data literature, our expressions reasonably explain results.

A Multichain Slip-Spring Model with Fluctuating Number of Entanglements Based On Single-Chain Slip-Spring Model

We present a multichain slip-spring model with fluctuating number of entanglements for dynamics of dense polymer melts, which is based on the single chain slip-spring model by Likhtman. By introducing the exclude volume interactions, a multichain version of slip-spring model can be presented with little modification. With this extension, inhomogeneous polymer system can be described properly. T...

Single-slip elastoplastic microstructures

We consider rate-independent crystal plasticity with constrained elasticity, and state the variational formulation of the incremental problem. For generic boundary data, even the first time increment does not admit a smooth solution, and fine structures are formed. By using the tools of quasiconvexity, we obtain an explicit relaxation of the first incremental problem for the case of a single sl...

Slip Mounted Single Point Deformed Structural Skins Slip Mounted Single Point Deformed Structural Skins

INTRODUCTION Slip Mounted Single Point Deformation expands upon the ideas of single point incremental metal forming, using a 6-axis robotic arm, by exploring the possibilities of how sheet metal can be deformed with minimal support bracing. The goal of this technique and research is to develop controlled methods for fabricating precise, double-curved, structural panels. The slip mounted techniq...

Derivation of free energy expressions for tube models from coarse-grained slip-link models.

We present the free energy of a single-chain mean-field model for polymer melt dynamics, which uses a continuous (tube-like) approximation to the discrete entanglements with surrounding chains, but, in contrast to previous tube models, includes fluctuations in the number density of Kuhn steps along the primitive path and in the degree of entanglement. The free energy is obtained from that of th...
